How did I get into the mess?

The students wanted to know where MY page was when they visited the Camp C.O.W. Site. I had to admit I had been so busy with the main page that I didn't have my own page. I thought maybe you would like to know how I got into this mess in the first place...

About two years ago I decided to learn to write my own HTML without any special browsers or sites. I found some space on MySiteSpace and opened notepad and went to work. It has been very enlightening. In "my quest" I have found several places which have been a great help to me.

Diaryland is a site where you can use html and keep an on line journal. To just have a journal is free. There are other added features for a monthly fee.

Dynamic Drive provides codes to aid you in special effects on your pages.

Google is my search engine of choice. When all else fails, I just type in what I am looking for and Google searches it out. I also like the spell check feature. Google will give you a chance to do another search if it feels you have made a spelling error. That is a life saver for me.

Little House is a Japanese site with loads of free art for sites. You must agree to provide a link to give credit to the artist. Just click around. There is some English to help guide you.

LissaExplains is an excellent place to start. Her award winning site continues to change and grow. She gives you all you basically need to know to start out with, but somehow that is never quite enough!

MySiteSpace has several packages for those who need space on Web. They range from about $3.95 a month to FREE! They also have a support forum for clients to come for help and advise about being a Web Master. Affordable is the key here!

NeoPets is a site with Cyber Pets. You can have up to four pets and feed and play with them. There are opportunities to write html in several areas.
